What Happens in the Post-Credit Scene?

Yes! Evil Dead Burn (2026) features two bonus scenes during and after the credits. However, the more important scene arrives after the full credits and delivers a major connection to Evil Dead Rise (2023), bringing back Ellie Bixler in a disturbing surprise that expands the franchise's interconnected mythology.
What Does the Post-Credit Scene Mean?

The scene confirms that the evil connected to Ellie was not completely destroyed at the end of Evil Dead Rise. Although Ellie's physical body was consumed as part of the Marauder creature and ultimately destroyed, Evil Dead Burn suggests that the Deadite presence associated with her can survive beyond the destruction of the host body. Her appearance through the mirror also reinforces one of the franchise's central ideas: destroying a possessed body does not necessarily destroy the demonic force behind it. More importantly, Ellie's return establishes a direct narrative connection between Evil Dead Burn and Evil Dead Rise, showing that these newer stories are not entirely isolated incidents and that the influence of the Necronomicon can continue spreading from one nightmare to another.
Does It Set Up a Sequel or Prequel?

Potentially, but not the next confirmed Evil Dead movie. Ellie's return clearly leaves the door open for another story involving her Deadite form, the crematorium, or the continuing infection established in Evil Dead Rise. However, the franchise's next announced installment is Evil Dead Wrath, directed by Francis Galluppi and scheduled for April 7, 2028. That movie is a prequel set in 1972, meaning it is not expected to directly continue the Ellie storyline teased by Evil Dead Burn. Director Sébastien Vaniček has also indicated that he does not currently intend to make his own direct sequel. For now, the post-credit scene should therefore be viewed as an open-ended connection to the wider Evil Dead universe rather than a confirmed setup for Evil Dead Burn 2.
