- 1
The Ugly Stepsister (2025)A twisted, bloody take on the classic fairy tale, where a sickening obsession with beauty and fitting into the shoe transforms into a literal body-horror nightmare.
For me, the undisputed number one spot this year. What a way to go all out. What they did here with practical effects is absolutely insane—pure old-school stuff, none of that cheap CGI that ruins the mood. There are a couple of mutilation scenes involving the shoe and the transformation that will literally make you look away from the screen. If you have a weak stomach, don't even bother, but if you love pure, hardcore splatter cinema, this is a modern masterpiece. Buckets of blood and non-stop tension.
- 2
Final Destination Bloodlines (2025)The legendary franchise returns to its roots with a new generation trying to break Death's design, unleashing a series of ultra-violent and highly creative chain-reaction accidents.
I had my doubts about the return of this saga, but man, what a great surprise. You can tell they actually sat down to figure out how to top the kills from the previous movies, and they totally nailed it. The gore here is super creative and explicit; every time a suspense sequence starts, you begin to sweat because you know the payoff is going to be destructive. The pacing is frantic and gives you no breathing room. It earned the second spot on the podium because it fully delivers on what it promises: bloody, brutal kills with that classic suspense that blows your mind.
- 3
Bring Her Back (2025)A desperate story of family resurrection that goes wrong in the worst way possible, unleashing a violent and merciless force within a claustrophobic setting.
This movie completely messes with your head. It plays a lot with a heavy, dark atmosphere, but when it decides to show the gore, it does it in such a raw and dry way that it leaves you cold. It’s not your typical monster movie; here, the horror comes from within and the violence is super visceral. I loved how they handle the confinement and the sheer desperation of the characters while everything goes to hell. The third act is a total bloodbath that stays with you for days. A destructive gem that deserves to be right near the top.
- 4
The Monkey (2025)When two twin brothers discover their father's old toy monkey in the attic, a series of gruesome and inexplicable deaths begins to tear their community apart.
Adapting this concept wasn't easy, but they managed a spectacular balance between a gripping plot and some pretty savage gore scenes. The mysticism behind the toy gives it a different flavor, and the kills are not subtle at all—lots of blood, dismemberment, and moments where you're like, "Wait, did they really just do that?". It might slow down a bit in the middle with the character drama, but it bounces back big time whenever the monkey comes into play. Very solid and fun to watch with friends who love gore.
- 5
Get Away (2024)A family's dream vacation on a remote island transforms into an extreme survival nightmare when a violent local threat decides to hunt them down one by one.
This one spilled over from the previous year, but it easily earned its spot in the top. It’s a pure survival movie, the kind where you feel the characters' pain in your own skin. The gore is very physical: deep cuts, compound fractures, and a level of brutality that makes you suffer right alongside the victims. The best part is the pacing; once the hunt starts, it doesn't stop for a single second until the end credits. If you like raw horror with lots of chasing and wounds that hurt just to look at, you'll love it.
- 6
Companion (2025)A disturbing story of obsession, control, and toxic relationships pushed to the absolute edge, where psychological harm quickly translates into physical violence and explicit gore.
At first, it looks like your run-of-the-mill psychological thriller, but don't let it fool you—it quickly derails into a super shady and bloody territory. It plays a lot with making the viewer uncomfortable. The gore isn't massive right out of the gate; instead, it drips out slowly with very specific scenes of torture and madness that turn your stomach because of how realistic they feel. Great acting and a script that keeps you glued, trying to figure out how far they will go. A welcome surprise for those looking for something more than just mindless blood.
- 7
Skillhouse (2025)A group of social media influencers finds themselves trapped in a mansion designed for a twisted reality show, where gaining clicks and surviving become the exact same thing.
A brutal satire on the influencer world but packed with tons of gore. It holds absolutely nothing back. The kills are over-the-top, almost comic-book style, but with an amount of blood and guts that will leave you more than satisfied. It's lower on the ranking because it sometimes gets a bit too ridiculous with the dialogue and stereotypes, but if you're looking for brainless fun and creative mutilations in fancy settings, you'll have a laugh and enjoy the bloodbath.
- 8
Heart Eyes (2025)A serial killer targets several couples on Valentine's Day, turning the most romantic date of the year into a bloody massacre filled with classic slasher tropes.
It's your typical popcorn slasher about dates gone wrong, but with the violence cranked up to eleven. It has that 90s vibe we love so much, killing people with romantic decorations in pretty painful ways. It doesn't reinvent the wheel and the killer is a bit cliché, but the gore sequences are really well executed and splatter nicely. Ideal for turning off your brain on a Friday night, grabbing some pizza, and enjoying a masked killer shredding love-struck teens in the bloodiest ways possible.
- 9
The Legend of Johnny Jones (2024)A man pushed to the edge by poverty and big-city madness transforms into a relentless serial killer, unleashing a wave of brutal crimes throughout the slums.
A pretty gritty urban slasher that I rescued from late 2024. It has a very dirty, street-level, low-budget atmosphere that fits the story perfectly. The gore here is heavy and straightforward: axe chops, blunt trauma, and raw violence without any pretentious choreography. It's at spot #9 because the production sometimes feels a bit weak on lighting and sound, but the killer's brutality and the fatal wounds are excellently done with physical effects. It delivers your blood quota and then some.
- 10
Stream (2024)A quiet family weekend getaway at a hotel turns into a bloody survival game when a group of masked killers competes to see who can make the most creative kill on a live stream.
We close the list with another one dragging over from 2024 that deserves recognition. The concept of killers live-streaming and competing for points is highly entertaining. The gore is super over-the-top and explicit, leaning into a theme-park slasher style. You can tell the people behind the project love the genre because there are easter eggs everywhere. It ended up last because the plot is predictable as hell, but for hanging out watching guts, flying heads, and blood splattering the camera, it works like a charm.
